Appendix 6 – Proposals for Activity in the Academic Arena
Organizations may submit proposals under the call for proposals, based on their work and desire to engage in the areas of activity detailed in this appendix and to the relevant audiences below:

Areas of activity:
- Reducing the capacity for offensive actions by those who generate antisemitism and delegitimization, and creating a deterring space within challenged universities.
- Strengthening the ability of student and faculty communities to deal with manifestations of antisemitism and attempts to disparage Israel in academia.
- Enhancing the effectiveness and coordination of organizations active in the academic arena.
- Strengthening Israel’s legitimate position and the informed discourse about it in academia.
- Any other activity that provides an effective response to the challenges that exist in this arena.
Relevant target audiences:
- Primary: university administrations and presidents, deans, academic staff members, leadership of student organizations (Jewish and others).
- Secondary: alumni, donors, policymakers who influence academia, the media that covers what is happening on campuses.
Emphases for submitting proposals:
- As part of the approval of the proposals, no payments will be made from the Project budget that constitute support.
- Details must be included in the proposal regarding the measurement and control tools for the proposed activity (accompanying research, mappings, surveys, etc.).
- It is recommended to include a verbal explanation of the expenses included in the proposed budget.
Success metrics (example):
- A statistically significant decrease in reports of antisemitic incidents on campuses where the activity took place (in the long-term).
- A clear increase in the cooperation of university administrations with organizations whose activities are financed by the Venture.
- A significant increase in students’ sense of security and ability to speak out in favour of Israel.
- Introducing balanced courses regarding Israel and Jewish history into the curriculum of relevant degrees.
- The number of physical activities that took place within the campus grounds.
- An increase in the number of institutions implementing policies against antisemitism.
